Aliens and Predators – What comes to movie franchises?

After nearly thirty years of action of Aliens and more than twenty years after the first explosion Predator our screens, these two giants of the genre film seems to have settled in their own series as a whole, which in turn seems to have created their own double header genre films. Following the example of Freddy Vs Jason (a low, pitiful excuse of a film), the AVP was first launched in 2004 with great fanfare and critical disdain. Its sequel, Alien Vs Predator: Requiem followed in 2007, the credibility of the series appeared to have been another blow by a ridiculous script and enforcement of standards. However, the credibility of one hand, the films have had great success and inevitable third entry is that it is working now. Is it permanent case of diminishing returns or that AVP third have nothing in the way of originality or impact? Here we look at all the Alien movies, Predator, and both AVP films in the series so far. Then there is a look at what may be the way to the third.

Lets start with the Alien movies. Original Ridley Scott's 1979 masterpiece is still valid today. In fact, it has not gone far, and although everyone knows exactly what will happen to the unfortunate crew of the Nostromo, which still gives massive hit. The iconic images, including various designs of HR Giger Alien, remain impressive, and the direction is impeccable, not stray shot. A master class in the atmosphere and rhythm, this is an absolute must-see in every way possible. Essential.

James Cameron, Scott fills the shoes is more than admirable, and delivered a very successful sequel in 1986. The focus was more on action and spectacle, but overproduction of Cameron did not let slip the characters, which gives us some real tension as our heroes are picked one by one by the creatures of the same name. The Alien Vs Powerloader queen scene at the climax of the film is exciting to date.

David Fincher brought us the dark and claustrophobic third inning of the series in 1992. Located in a remote penal colony, the Ripley wake up to the savage alien creature once again. The ending, with suicide as iconic Ripley Alien Queen starts Bruster chest through her body, is something that viewers will never forget. A very underrated movie, this is an incredibly tense piece of science fiction drama.

Jean-Pierre Jeunet was responsible for directing the fourth film in 1997 with a script by Buffy creator Joss Whedon. Despite wearing a witty visual style and some great scenes, mediocre script and awkward as much of the cast of the left fan opinion divided. This is a popcorn movie enjoyable, but after what came before, falls short of being great.

But the Predator films? There are only two Predator movies alone so far, and he never saw the dizzying heights of the first Alien movie. However, they remain popular. The original, starring Schwarzenegger-1987 action romp was a great story of survival against a terrifying enemy. At the end of the film, only Arnie and the Predator up, and the result, though predictable, is satisfying. The Predator has a deadly ninja as a beast capable of pure evil terrible, all in the name of sport. A landmark film that unfortunately has had its power diluted by what later became the Predator franchise.

Predator 2 came in 1990. Danny (Lethal Weapon) Glover headed by that-the-numbers sequel. The action moves to Los Angeles, and the Predator is loose in the street. Even without Arnie, this sequel is still a fun way to spend 90 minutes, although not exactly match the ferocity of his predecessor, or tension.

Alien Vs Predator came in 2004.The film that had been discussed for ten years (from the original AVP comics presented by Dark Horse) open to a lot of fanfare and made a ton at the box office. Once the anger had subsided, the empty space and the non-existent script became a legend. What I had was a very exciting scenery enthusiastic fans worldwide. What the film lacks coherence in history that more than offset in the show. The battles between Aliens and Predators are excellent, if more in the vein of superhero movies of the original versions of animals. A favorite of insurance but rather a Hollywood blockbuster of a science fiction film would.

The terror came to a small American town in drawing oddly-sequel, Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem. Violence has risen to a level of at-again, like in the gore. Once again led directly to the audience a great success, lacking a decent script and almost has a sense of style on MTV. The set pieces come thick and fast, and although the viewer can not worry at all human characters, the scenes featuring the Alien and Predator are exciting and thrilling in equal measure.

But what of the third film and the future of both franchises separately? There has long been an Alien 5 in the light, but has never seen the day or light, and the series of AVP may have killed the chances of aliens and predators to strike on their own for a few years yet. As for Predator 3, nothing is even being considered now. Word is that the third AVP film see the change of the series back to deep space, which is exactly where the films that have been established in the first place. Some fans have called out for the third movie that has no human cast, and therefore no risk of terrible dialogue, but unfortunately there is little chance a movie with Hollywood actors get quite into it these days, that is a shame. A complete in house art cinema AVP still would bring in the audience of the previous films, and also gain some credibility points missed these icons of the long lost film.
